Jacknife Sound Presents is an event series highlighting live bands from Vancouver's vibrant and diverse music scene.

The most recent show falls on Friday the 13th, in October no less, so a mood ring with a macabre apparition was created to convey the appropriate atmosphere for the evening.

A magpie was chosen as the icon for the February poster because their range of song and vocalization is so broad and unique—much like the variety of talent on the bill.

LEATHERS is the anticipated collaboration between Vancouver visual artist/vocalist, Shannon Hemmett and producer/songwriter, Jason Corbett (ACTORS). Combining luminous guitar textures and icy-cool synths, Hemmett and Corbett channel their shoegaze, post-punk and darkwave influences into a captivating, nocturnal aesthetic. What masks do you wear? 100 Days of Disguise is a project about the transformative power that masks have over the wearer and the spectator. For 100 consecutive days I concealed my face and recorded the result. The entire series can be viewed on Instagram under the hashtag #100daysofdisguise.

Girlfriends and Boyfriends is a new wave band from Vancouver, Canada. They may have also been the band that plays the nightclub in Pretty In Pink but they have neither confirmed nor denied this rumour. Our Garden's songs centre around themes of heartbreak and sexual frustration. A rose, surgically butchered and put back together brings the point home—Love hurts. Released on vinyl and available for digital download on Bandcamp.

Boo! Thirteen Masks is a painting series that celebrates the enduring appeal of the Halloween mask. Classic character archetypes were hand painted in candy-coloured gouache to share each mask's unique personality. The paintings were displayed for a limited time at Hot Art Wet City in Vancouver, Canada. Prints are available.
